Hi, I’m Julia, but most people call me Jules.

What do you do for a living?

I’m a photographer and brand strategist based in Hamburg. I’ve found my creative home in projects that enable me to form a wide variety of human connections. My bachelor's degrees in marketing and photography and general experiences in life helped me to gain a wide range of knowledge which I incorporate into my work.

What projects do you work on?

In my projects, I increasingly engage with topics such as trauma, family, and mental health. Life is not always rainbows and butterflies and I see my own growth mostly in those phases, why I find those topics the most interesting.

How do you describe your work?

If it is a music project, then my visual language is very dynamic, spontaneous and experimental. When it comes to telling stories or drawing attention to certain topics, my visual language is much calmer and more poetic. Then I take the time to perceive my surroundings and my counterpart with all their emotions and to incorporate this into my pictures.

What makes you happy?

I love to experience new things and to listen to other peoples stories. I also love coffee, the warmth of the sunlight on my skin and the feeling when I have the urge to create something.

What makes you sad?

Injustice, when people are excluded and when someone doesn't speak their truth.

What is one thing you've learned in life?

Contentment comes before success.
